What should a small business homepage say?
Visitors decide in a few seconds whether you are right for them. Here is what your homepage needs to answer, in order.

Most small business homepages try to say everything and end up saying nothing. A visitor arrives from Google or a friend's message, glances at the screen, and decides in a few seconds whether to stay. Your homepage has one job: help the right person understand they are in the right place and tell them what to do next.
Answer three questions straight away
Whatever the layout, the top of your page should answer these, in this order:
- What do you do? Say it in plain words. "Family dentist in Banjara Hills" beats "Excellence in oral wellness".
- Who is it for? A clinic, a café, an interior studio: name the customer or the place, so the right visitor thinks "that is me".
- What should I do next? One clear button. Book a visit, get a quote, call us. Not five competing choices.
Show proof, not adjectives
Words like "premium" and "trusted" mean little on their own. Real photographs of your work, a short customer review with a name, the number of years you have been trading: these things are believable. If you do not have much proof yet, show your process or your prices instead. Honest and specific beats impressive and vague.
Make contact effortless
Put your phone number, WhatsApp link and address where people expect them: the top of the page and the footer. On a phone, a tap should call or open a chat. Every extra step between "interested" and "talking to you" loses people.
Keep the first screen fast
A beautiful page that takes six seconds to load on mobile data loses most visitors before they read a word. Compress your photos, avoid autoplaying video, and test your page on a real phone, not just a large screen.
A quick self-check
Show your homepage to someone who does not know your business for five seconds, then hide it and ask what you do and what you would click. If they cannot tell you, rewrite the top of the page first. Everything else can wait.
If you would like a second pair of eyes on your homepage, send us a message and we will tell you honestly what we would change.
